This short film, poem, is an extra from a DVD edition of Autografia, by Miguel Gonçalves Mendes. It was only possible to be here, because it was shared by the filmmaker. Regardless of all the hardships that can place and will not be few, the sound, the orchestra, the composer, the image quality or whatever other oddities the borders of our egos are barring, make no mistake, these 16 minutes contain something extraordinary. A single record, a larger picture of a poet who stared ahead on what he is. With or without fear, he crossed the grey fascists putting color where the danger of it quivered the most common rights, freedom. From what is here, is not a small thing, someone's work, such as those to whom we honor, surrenders to the mission of giving a body, intention and make the language one picture of a world that wants and desires to be inhabited. It’s not a small thing, what he painted, what he wrote. It’s not a small thing that it died in a small apartment forgotten by all, almost all, the immensity.
And if all this were little, and if this does not represent some beauty, some speech, if it deserved the destruction at the hands of who enjoys, even in this situation the most are asking that action.
Take its torpor, give care to these small beads, masquerade but if you feel like it, but do not leave the crazy alone.
